African Clawed Frogs Redux

by Michael J. McGuire

In 1984, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California was infested with 840,000 African Clawed Frogs in San Joaquin Reservoir. The photo is of a young Ed Means trudging up the reservoir slope with his frog-catching tools. Now Golden Gate Park is overrun with the same critters. Our solution was simple–organically recycle them to Carolina Biological Supply so that they could be reused in high school and college biology classrooms. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Lily-Pond-in-Golden-Gate-Park-overrun-3718185.php
